The different parts of a 障子 style lamp

• [1] wooden bar (¼, 15mm, convexe). Parts needed: 4 long and 4 short.
• [2] square wooden bar (9mm x 9mm). Parts needed: 8 long and 8 short.
• square wooden bar (13,5mm x 13,5mm). Parts needed: 12 for the frames.
• Glue: glue for wood

When purchasing the material, the wooden bars should really be very straight.

The parts to be glued together must be put on an even surface to be pressed.

The wooden bars weren't all that straight, hence, a lot of sanding had to be done.

Please take care not to press too hard after glueing : the presses will leave marks on tender wood (green arrow).

Electrical material

• Quite expensive when bought seperately : wire, switch and lightbulb holder.
• either taken from an old lamp
• or taken from a cheaply bought lamp.

the electrical equipment must comply to safety regulations.
